SPD was seeking to revamp their online store selling handmade stationery and gifts by talented persons with disabilities. They were looking to refresh the design, improve user experience, drive online sales and boost organic search rankings
SPD's initial e-commerce site had an outdated and unattractive design resulting in low online sales volume with sit experiences having high bounce rate and low engagement. The challenge was to design an atrractive, user-friendly and intuitive e-commerce site, whilst showcasing the brand story and stories about the craftsmen behind the meaningful, handmade products.
SPD also struggled to gain organic traffic to their site and were looking for ways to increase the traffic. SPD reached out to Amber Creative to embark on Search engine Optimisation (SEO) efforts for their site. We started by doing an analysis and audit on the site to identify the portions which requires optimisation. Research was also conducted on SPD's targeted audience and industry to form an effective strategy.
For the website revamp, we designed a contemporary, sleek, minimalistic website, whilst making it more user-friendly and easier to navigate through different collections. we ensured that the website design was eye-catching while showcasing the products' key selling points - handmade products crafted by talented persons with disabilities at affordable prices.
For SPD's SEO, we optimised the site and individual pages through On-Page and Technical SEO, after conducting an in-depth keyword research and SEO strategy.
Outcome
The new website led to an increase in product sales, even without the running of any paid advertisements. It was also engaging for users as seen from the long session duration (more than 3 minutes) and low bounce rate (below 30%).
The site saw an increase by 2x in organic impressions and a 26% increase in clicks. The bounce rate had also increased by more than 30%.
