Top 7 Tips You Have to Know To Create Great Content

Digital Marketing

Today we will feature the top seven tips for great content marketing. Enjoy!

Tip #1: Get inspirations of which content to write about from your email outbox. Alternatively, use meetup.com to find out what people deeply care about.

Remember, the purpose of content marketing is not to generate a pile of content, but rather to inspire conversations within your tribe. Once you have identified a niche area, find out exactly what people in your tribe deeply care about. You can do this by seeing what type of questions you reply to through your emails, and address that in your blog post or via video assets. This method also saves time, because points are already thought out in your original sent email!

Alternatively, hop over to meetup.com or some meet-up portals to get ideas about why people go to get-togethers. Better still, attend one and join in the discussion, to get a feel about what people in that community care about. Very often than not, you might be surprised by how much people don’t know they don’t know or don’t know they know. After having some idea about what people want to find out, you can do some research in that particular micro-niche and write away!

Tip #2: Recycle posts with your most read headlines from time to time. Consider boosting them as sponsored posts to get a bigger reach.

If the headline appeals to your readers, the chances are that it will appeal to your readers even two months later. Posts that write about serious content are known as “pillar posts”, and readers click on such headlines probably because readers are attracted to them.

Since they capture attention, don’t waste these posts! Re-share the posts with your most read headlines every month on your various social media platforms.

Tip #3: Sometimes for great content marketing, you can even write about your competitor…

Well, imagine how nice it would be if a reader were to google your competitor’s brand and have your article come up instead! Of course, we don’t mean to adopt this strategy with malicious intent.

However, do consider the idea of reverse engineering. Check which of their posts are shared the most online, and take note of the topics and keywords. With a few tweaks, you can modify existing engaging content to make it your own. Also, take note of which websites they constantly refer back to. They might give you some hints of their content marketing strategies! 😉

Tip #4: People love lists, facts, and numbers. You will seldom go wrong when you do content related to these elements.

However, even when you are providing lists, facts, and numbers, remember to make them interesting and engaging!

Tell a story. Have a theme. Research well and feature some really out-of-the-world trivia. Sometimes, the reality is even weirder than fiction!

Tip #5: FAQ list.

FAQ lists can actually be a great content material, especially when it is done with a tinge of humour. Alternatively, the lists can be really useful material, especially if it addresses pertinent questions by members of your tribe.

Most people do appreciate the FAQ list because newer members of the community don’t want to seem as though they are asking stupid questions. Whereas older members of the community don’t want to keep repeating what they know!

Tip #6: Visuals! Make use of infographics for great content marketing.

Infographics are great visual methods to convey facts or the full picture of any given scenario. They are colourful, easy to understand, and represent otherwise boring statistics in a meaningful manner. In addition, because infographics can be represented on one page, they can be conveniently printed and placed into a notebook for handy reference.

Tip #7: Write about what’s new in your industry.

Readers usually want to stay up-to-date with industry matters. Therefore, any content on recent happenings in the industry that is specially curated for your audience would be very appreciated. It is best if each update is seen as something smart to say to an industry counterpart during a networking session.

We hope you have enjoyed our seven tips for doing great content marketing! Have a good weekend ahead.
